Community Cats

Helping Cats. Supporting Communities.

Community cats—often called feral or free‑roaming cats—are unowned cats who live outdoors. Our Community Cat Program focuses on humane, effective solutions that improve the lives of cats while addressing community concerns.

What Is a Community Cat?

Community cats are:

  • Outdoor cats without a traditional owner

  • Often cared for by neighborhood residents

  • Not socialized to indoor life

  • Healthier and more stable when managed humanely

Community cats are not strays in need of relocation or sheltering—they thrive best when cared for in their familiar environment.

Ways We Can Help

🐾 Community Cat Survey

If you are caring for or aware of community cats in your area, please complete our Community Cat Survey.
This helps us:

  • Understand cat populations in our community

  • Identify priority areas

  • Plan resources and outreach

🐾 Spay/Neuter Assistance Application

If you need help accessing low‑cost or supported spay/neuter services for community cats, you may apply for assistance with transportation.

Please note:

  • Submission of an application does not guarantee an appointment

  • Assistance is based on funding, clinic availability, and program capacity

  • Applications are reviewed in the order received, with urgent cases prioritized

  • The cost is $30 per cat without medications or $40 per cat with medications, which includes spay/neuter, rabies, and Feline 7-HCP.
