How do I make a donation?  

• Make a gift in honor or memory of a loved one. 
• Make HSHC a beneficiary of your Will or Life Insurance Policy. 




Can I donate pet items that I no longer need?  Yes, we accept donations of much-needed items from our  Wish List  at the Shelter.


Can I host my own fundraiser?  Whether you own a business or want to help the Humane Society of Henderson County on an individual level, hosting a fundraiser is a great way to raise awareness of the organization while at the same time raising much-needed funds to support our life-saving mission. Please let us know about your fundraiser and we will help you to promote it!


How do I make a gift in honor or memory of someone?  We would be happy to help you honor a loved one with a special gift to HSHC!  Please send us the following information:
• Is this an honor gift or memorial gift?
• What is the name of the person or pet you would like to honor or memorialize?
• Who should receive notification of this gift? This is optional. If you choose, we will send a card to the recipient or his/her family notifying them of this gift. 
• What is your full name and address?

What does my donation help fund? Your donation will be used in the manner you choose.  We have multiple options available on our  Donate  page.  We rely solely on donations from private supporters to care for thousands of needy dogs and cats each year. 

HSHC has been recognized as a GuideStar 'Partner in Trust' Non-Profit.


Where does HSHC receive its funding? As a private, non-profit organization, HSHC receives no state or federal funding from any entity for Humane Society services and relies upon the support of private individuals, organizations and corporations to continue our mission.  We do have a contract with the City and County specifically for animal control services only.



Can I make donations automatically on my debit or credit card? Yes, we accept cash, checks, automatic debit or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discovery) and can set up a gift payment schedule that’s convenient for you.  Please visit our  Donate  page for more information.




Will you sell my name/information? No, we will not sell, give or trade a donor's personal information to any other entity in existence unless we receive written permission from the donor or, lacking that, provide donors with an easy and user-friendly way to opt out of having their information sold or traded.
